Thump in the Night

Maundering shapes all about the night.
Children awake! Full of fright!
What lurks just beyond their line of sight?
What keeps kids demanding to "leave on the light!"

Beneath the bed lurks the fear
Inside the closet, it's breath they hear!
Toe nails scrapping, the noise it nears!
Little children about in tears!

Hush! Now rest! It's just the wind!
Their fanciful imaginations kicking in.
Parents retreat back to the Den.
Another long night for children begins...
As the bumps, creaks, and noises start all over again
